I am stunned...overwhelmed...I can't describe how blessed I feel. A new baby girl has come into the world, and chosen me for her mommy. My beautiful little Bright Eyes (yes, she already has a net name) was born on Dec. 7th, in room 7, at 7 lbs. 7 oz. after only 4 hours in the hospital, only a couple of those hours actual painful labor. She shot out like a little cannonball, and was crying before the doc could even secure her hold on the babe (I'm told it wasn't easy cause she shot out so fast). And naturally...the instant they plop her up onto my chest she starts getting revenge for all the poking and teasing she got in the womb and starts whopping me in the mouth with her tiny little fist. *gigglefits* I was just too stunned to do anything except giggle.
So now I'm stuck with this tiny wriggling thing that is a little poop factory, wants fed many hours of the day and sleeps most of the rest of them, and I could not be any happier. I've been on cloud nine ever since we got home. No more than a passing hour or two of baby blues to slow me down, and I'm quickly regaining the ability to bend over and touch my toes without falling onto my head. *LOL* I can tell you one thing...holding a bare baby to my breast is the most natural thing I can possibly imagine. Motherhood is a beauty that brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it, even if I do know I'm doomed to fear for the kid's safety and argue with her and all the not so fun things for the rest of my life.
It is all absolutely, completely worth it! I have no idea what I've done to deserve such a perfect gift. I just hope I continue to be worthy of her love and the wonder she's made of my life.
